I like this system. I’m a civilian and want something that’s quick to throw on over clothing. I like the double inner belt with outer war belt type set up, but it seems like a pain to take on and off, not to mention your shirt needs to be tucked in which creates issues with adding or subtracting additional layers depending on the elements. I also like that you can easily carry a pack with it. Where would your pistol go in this set up?

Could I suggest instead, sewing a hook and loop closure at the top of the bag, add rock into bag (then roll VC17 flag material up and use the excess MC to cover the flag strip concealing color when retained thru molle). Then adding in double sewn shock cord to roll the flag up into, and when sewing the shock cord in, add enough to create similar to a two loop retaining band similar to a PTT retainer for comms? Thoughts?

The vest is useless for fast deployment in that depicted set up in most cars used in surveillance; ie Japanese made SUVs, mini sedans. Most cars have an adjustable headrest and you cannot flip the vest panel to clear the head rest and car ceiling.

I was just a patrol dawg back in the day- but seeing this vest set up being demostrated by LAPD SIS, that says alot about a made in USA kit, something tells me this is not for the viewers who commented, this set up is for the professional working high risk UC incidents who require the best, and have access to their tools- without fumble or hesitation. I think S.O. Tech fills a very special niche with special units and investigators who work plain clothes/UC. Great job S.O. Tech.

You can fit 2 aluminum USGI mags in each magazine pouch, for a total of 12 mags.

Really wish you still made them and sold them to regular people like me. 100% vet.

SO Tech did it again! I’ll bet it would also work good as an escape & evasion go bag for aircrews. I’d place a flat folded shelter in the laptop compartment and organize small e&e tools in the zip pouch and panel. I like it! 👍👍😁🇺🇸
